Getting Started

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right corner and choose your preferred Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, etc.). Make sure you have SOL for gas fees and USDC for trading.

Step 2: Select Your Market

Click on the market selector (e.g., "BTC ▼") to choose from our available trading pairs. View real-time prices and select the asset you want to trade.

Step 3: Configure Your Trade

Choose between Market or Limit orders, set your leverage (1-20x), and enter your position size. The interface will show you an estimated liquidation price before you trade.

Step 4: Execute

Click "Long / Buy" to open a long position or "Short / Sell" to open a short position. Confirm the transaction in your wallet and you're trading!

Understanding Perpetual Futures

Perpetual futures are derivative contracts that allow you to speculate on the price of an asset without actually owning it. Unlike traditional futures, perpetuals have no expiration date.

🎯 Long Position: You profit when the price goes up. If BTC is at $50,000 and you go long with 5x leverage, a 10% price increase gives you a 50% return on your margin.

🎯 Short Position: You profit when the price goes down. If ETH is at $3,000 and you go short with 10x leverage, a 5% price decrease gives you a 50% return on your margin.

⚠️ Liquidation Risk: With leverage comes risk. If the market moves against your position and hits your liquidation price, your position will be automatically closed and you'll lose your margin. Always use stop losses and manage your risk carefully.

Trading Fees

The Percolator uses a simple and transparent fee structure:

Trading Fee: 0.05% per trade
Funding Rate: Variable, paid every 8 hours between long and short positions
Gas Fees: Standard Solana network fees (typically < $0.01)

Risk Management

Best Practices:

Never risk more than you can afford to lose
Start with lower leverage until you're comfortable
Use stop losses to protect your capital
Monitor your positions and liquidation prices
Diversify across multiple positions
Keep enough margin to avoid unnecessary liquidations
